Default Best way to lower note volume?

First, tried to search this forum and keep getting: Your submission could not be processed because the token has expired. Please push the back button and reload the previous window. Which I've done repeatedly and keep getting same message.

Anyway I have a single stereo track imported from a cd and want to lower the volume of a single bass note. As it's already mixed have to lower entire track volume during the note. On Sound Forge it's easy, I just select it and lower volume. but on PT there's no corresponding command. Do I have to create a master fader or vca track and automate it? Seems like more hassle than it should be.

Make your selection then: AudioSuite > Other > Gain

How about a spot EQ? Highpass the region as appropriate.

Or drop the edit window into volume view and edit away.
