Kontakt 3 and Pro Tools 8 As Of Now - Yes/No?

Jajajaja. I have an XP60 and I use it for the same EXACT reason! An excellent controller it has become. I still hold onto my XV5080 to playback old tunes. You are correct, I purchased Kontakt 3 and never looked back.

Do you not have any save issues when running Kontakt in PT8?

The official word is that the following NI plug-ins are not compatible with Pro Tools 8:

Kontakt 3
Bandstand
Battery 3
Elektrik Piano
Guitar Rig 3

While these may seem to work on some systems, they are likely to cause problems at some point. We do not recommend using these plug-ins until they are updated for compatibility with Pro Tools 8.

Guitar Rig 3.2 has come out since that posting, so hopefully it's compatible now. What if Kontakt 3 and Battery 3 are used within Kore 2? No problems that way?

What about B4 II, Pro53, and Akoustik Piano?


If B4 II isn't working with PT 8, I'm not upgrading until it does.

I knew there was a reason my PT 8 has been sitting in it's box staring at me for 3 weeks.

I've been told by DigiTechSupt on a different thread that Akoustik Piano is also not compatible. So in one of the studios I am working in they're still waiting with this upgrade. Let's see how long it will take for NI to come up with updates.

I miss Kontakt! I was having all kinds of problems after upgrading, and Kontakt was the root of it all. Structure Free is OK.... but very limited.
