Default intermittent distortion temporarily fixed by change to playback engine settings

Hi, I've been experiencing this problem for some time now, and I'm pretty sick of it.

When I stop and start playing, this problem sometimes happens:listen here.

I don't know what causes it, but as a workaround I can go to the playback engine, change any setting and it fixes it temporarily.

I am using Protools LE 8.0.5 on Windows 7 with an Mbox2 mini. I am using an external usb harddrive as a my file storage.

Anyone know what's going on?

Thanks.

I experience the exact same problem. I'ts really a pain...

Did you find a solution?

'Cause I'm planning to buy a new interface just to get rid of this annoying problem that experienced so many users and for which Avid sadly does not give any solution, which I find really unprofessionnal...

I'm having the same problem. I've tried reinstalling PT 3 times and been researching solutions for a week now.

Click this link in the top part of this(and every) DUC page. Without a Sandra report(Windows), nobody can really offer any advice. You might have a hardware issue, and the Sandra report is the way to finding that out
