Default Please help with 003 connectivity issues!

Dear DUC friends,

I'm a longtime PT user (PC world) and a new Mac user. I have been trying unsuccessfully for weeks to get my MacBook Pro to work with my 003 Rack. I'm posting here in hopes that someone can help me avoid paying $40 for Avid phone support.

Ok...here are the logistical details --

Computer model and processor speed - new Macbook Pro 2.6 GHz i7
OS version - 10.8.4
Digidesign or M-Audio hardware model - 003 Rack
Pro Tools version - 10.3.6
Amount of RAM installed - 8 GB
Peripherals - Lacie Quadra D2 connected via Thunderbolt Port
003R connected via Firewire

Here's a description of the situation --

003R shows up in System Preferences -> Sound devices

Playing any audio launches Avid CoreAudio Manager which indicates --
Avid HW - Unsupported Device
Status - Not Connected HW not found

Pro Tools launches but playback will not start. Startup of PT takes a little while as it gets hung up on setting up I/O for a bit.

Currently it says Problem Detected with Audio Clock when I try to initiate playback.

Avid 003 Rack is selected as the Playback Engine.

003 Rack is working as I'm still using it with my old PC setup.

Any help or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. It's such a frustrating thing when you want to make music on your new system and you're mired in technical confusion. Thanks so much in advance for any insight!

A couple of quick additions --

Even clicking Setup>Playback Engine causes the spinning wheel to show up for 30-40 seconds.

I have tried uninstalling and re-installing both PT's and the 003 driver with the same results.

That's the wrong driver. Looks like you've installed the new driver (kind of PT11 only and called Avid 003).
What you'll have to do:
Additionally install the 10.3.3 driver, it will show up as DIGI 003. Use this one in PT10 and everything's fine.

ef2000---Thank you so much for your kind response and for picking up on that detail. I will be un-installing PT 10 tonight and installing PT 11. Hopefully, the stars will align and I'll get back in the music making game.

Again...thanks for your kind help!
