Default Imported Sibelius MIDI Files in Pro Tools 10, not playing back

Hi I recently bought Pro Tools 10, and I am new to this type of software.

When I export a MIDI file from Sibelius 6 and try to import it with Pro Tools 10, everything appears fine except it won't play back. I've looked around for a solution and the closest answer I get is to delete the MIDI volume data from the MIDI Event Viewer, which I did and it doesn't fix the problem - there's still no playback on the MIDI files. I'm not sure if the problem is during my exporting process from Sibelius 6, or whether it is at Pro Tools.

I've also found that some MIDI composed sounds from virtual instruments don't play back either. Are these two problems related?

Can anyone help me??

Cheers,
Eric.

MIDI is just program commands, it is not audio. It will make no sounds by itself. You need to direct the MIDI track to play a virtual instrument (plug in) or an external MIDI playback device. This is usually done with an "Instrument Track" and a Virtual Synthesizer plug-in in Pro Tools. Have you looked on YouTube for a tutorial on how to set this up in Pro Tools? Or alternativley maybe search the forum for a post that can walk you through the process.

Thank you 19 frets, that worked, but some virtual instruments still don't play my MIDI data. Would you know the reason for this?
