Do a search on my user name for the stuff I've written on PT 9 install.

Follow those instructions exactly...

I know after all the blue screen crashes and clean windows 7 install and pro tools 9 installing to have it be this is, reminds me to slow down and dont panic and flip, there is a solution out there waiting to be had!

Oh but I do think all those blue screen crashes still had something to do with my main HD that was over 3 years old Its been replaced as of 3 days ago.

Me always trying to be organized I always keep all separate drivers and how to fix things with my pro tools installers. I had an out of date ilok installer.

The person who truly went out of his way without be asked to do so offered to trouble shoot with me. He pin pointed my problem, pretty quickly! He even helped me to be able to set my buffer size down to 128 sample, I could never go lower than 256 samples. And with more info he shared with me I think once I reset my ram timing in my BIOS correctly I'll be able to work at 64 samples.

His name is Mykhal C.

All I can say is this guy is truly an amazing person to have come into your life!

Thank you SO much Mykhal!

I owe you bigtime!

My deepest & sincerest gratitude to you brother! You ROCK!

The preceding has been brought to you by the makers of Prozac.

FAST TRACK PRO
Pro Tools 8.0.5
Hello guys, I hope somebody can help me with this issue. I have been trying multiple things unsuccessfully. I started to get a blue screen a few weeks ago anytime I tried to start Pro Tools, saying that the IRQL not less or equal, and a bunch of zeroes and multiple other numbers that I figured, vary any time I get a new error trying to start Pro Tools. I updated windows 7 with all the latest updates and even though I don’t see the SP 1 in my system specs, I assume it is installed because I installed all available updates online for win 7 64 bit. I also have the correct drivers for my Fast Track Pro, as it works fine and reproduce sounds and all from my computer. I just updated my Pro Tools 8 to 8.0.5. which is the free update they have in Avid’s website for PT 8 users. I checked my memory sticks just to make sure they are working fine, I removed one of the sticks and then the other, and both of them work fine. I have uninstalled pro tools many times and all of its components, as well as my Fast Track Pro drivers and re installed fresh drivers and software and all. Nothing seems to work, I get the same blue screen. I am very sad, I want to get this working again, It was working fine, I don’t know what in the world could have happen. This is the diagnostic that windows gave me the last time I got a blue screen, actually a couple of minutes ago.

Hi guys,

Not sure if this thread is still active but I was just going through the same thing. Took me 2 days to figure out my BSOD issue after installing ProTools 9. I understand that everyone's issue is different but you can try this, Hopefully it will help.

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit HP Laptop.

1) Uninstall Protools and all of it's components.
2) Reinstall Protools 9 WITHOUT Digidesign HFS+ Disk Support

My experience:

* Before installing ProTools 9 my PC was running beautifully
* I installed ProTools 9 WITH Digidesign HFS+ Disk Support and it crashed straight away after reboot. BSOD on MDPMGRNT.SYS (It's the MacDrive Partition Driver in Windows). Run Windows Debugger to check what your error is. See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315263
* I uninstalled the Digidesign HFS+ Disk Support feature
* Rebooted and everything was fine. In my case it was definately the Digidesign HFS+ Disk Support driver.

Anyway, I hope this helps someone because I have been saved many times by other people's posts. THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTION TO THIS FORUM.

Happy ProTooling.

Nick
