Default Any know how to do "Black Diamond" fade out

I know this is "out there" but has anyone successfully, through the use of plug-ins, managed to do/cop the "pull the plug on the tape machine" fade out at the end of Kiss' "Black Diamond"(studio album)??

Thanks!

You could try the Vari-Fi plugin, and set it to slow down.

I've never tried it, but I don't think Vari-Fi would work. According to the documentation it does not change the length of the original recording. To do a true tape-slowdown effect the length would have to increase.

I'm not sure how the machine would keep reproducing the sound if had been unplugged! Sounds like a tech with a screwdriver slowly bringing down the speed adjustment. It sure seems to take a long time (sort of boring, just sayin').

I've always liked the one at the end of "School's Out":

Love to know how they did that in the early 70s, Schools Out is a classic

Well, I don't think Neil Bogart thought this one up( although, you never know). It's a unique effect for sure.

You don't pull the power on the machine, you pull the power on the capstan motor. Then you record that to another machine. If you pull the capstan power on the recording machine, the pitch rises to infinity!!
