Default My Virtual Instruments have disappeared

Hello DUC folks,

My virtual instruments (Omnisphere, Trilian, Italian Grand) have disappeared from the Instruments list. They were showing recently but now when I open a new instrument track and look in the list they're gone (only the PT VI are there).

I recently updated from PT8 to 8.0.1 so the problem might originate from there (?)

I've search the forum here but could not find anything related. Any idea on what I should do?

Music XPC C6X,Core 2 quad, 4 Gb RAM, XP Pro SP2, PT 801, Mbox2.

I'm stuck now and can't work on my project so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

DigiNdee

I would reinstall the VIs without uninstalling them first. Actually before that I would make an image with True Image or Ghost or at least Windows System Restore. I would also upgrade to SP3 for your XP. Never know.

+1. That would be the easiest fix.

Hi, thanks for the reply.

My Plugins don't show up in the unused plugins folder however they show up in the plugins folder but are not available in PT (they were before the 801 update).

Take note that I have Sonar installed on the same computer and my plugins are available in VST in Sonar and they work fine. However, since I updated from PT LE 8 to 801 my plugins have disappeared from Pro Tools (but are showing and working in Sonar as stated).

Has anyone experience this after the PT LE 801 update?

What should I do next?

Thanks.

Try trashing preferences and database files.

Hi,

Thanks for the help, however, can you provide more information on where to go and what to do in order to "trash preferences and database files"???

DigiNdee
TAMARA on how to do that unless you look at the general troubleshooting on the main page.

Here is a question. Did you clone your drive or have you changed out your hard drive recently?

Just some lite humor from Keybeeeets but many new people post on the forum asking the same questions over and over again while the answer is right on the first page under general troubleshooting.

I had to ask once as well.

He could look under the post and it would tell him in clear detail how to trash his prefs and databases and there is even a digi utility to do it for him.
