Default 10.3.6 is up. fixes plus get ready for co-exist with PT 11

Hi,

10.3.6 is released!

This is the first version of PT10 that will co-exist with PT11 so you will need this for the dual boot PT10 / PT11 once 11 is released.

Issues Resolved in Pro Tools 10.3.6

In sessions at high sample rates on HDX systems, automation ramps now track accurately. (PTSW-170306, PTSW-181981)

When importing audio into a session by drag and drop, if two files have different names and the same unique ID, a “Stamp New Unique ID” message appears only if the modification dates of the two files are different. (PTSW-179183)

Certain non-Avid AAX DSP plug-ins could cause Pro Tools to quit unexpectedly with previous versions of Pro Tools 10.3. This has been resolved in Pro Tools. (PTSW-182881, PTSW-182883)

If, on first launch, Pro Tools detects that it is close to running out of memory due to a very large number of installed plug-ins (AAX/TDM/RTAS), it saves the current plug-in cache and then requires you to quit and relaunch Pro Tools. This is a workaround for temporary memory limits that exist only after a fresh Pro Tools install. (PTSW-180029)

AudioSuite processing from the Clip List using Overwrite Files mode no longer incorrectly adds AudioSuite handles. (PTSW-178956)

You can now adjust pop-up volume and pan sliders in the Edit Window with fine resolution (using standard Pro Tools key commands) in the same way as in the Mix Window. (PTSW-176942)

Pro Tools 10.3.6 and Pro Tools HD 10.3.6 on Mac OS X 10.6.x, 10.7.x and 10.8.x — 6/8/13 9329-65308-00 REV A 1
The Default button in the Input tab of I/O Setups no longer disables the “Compensate for Input Delays after Record Pass” option. (PTSW-172852)

With Pro Tools 10.3.6 and higher, Sound Designer II (.SD2) files are no longer supported. If you open a session containing SD2 files, they are converted to the session audio file format.

Plug-Ins
Avid AAX plug-ins no longer cause Pro Tools to quit unexpectedly when switching channel views of a multi-mono plug-in. This problem only occurred on MacOS X 10.8. (PTSW-180912)

Channel Strip (Native) uses much less CPU capacity for shelving filters. (PTSW-170126)

Channel Strip, Pro Compressor, Pro Expander gain reduction now works correctly in Internal-All and Front/Rear channel linking modes. (PTSW-178201)

ReVibe II now supports saving of the collapsed tab state. (PTSW-174598)

It is downloading fine from Safari as a direct download (Avid Download Manager doesn't open in Safari on my system), but keeps coming with the error message that the file is corrupted in Firefox & Download Manager...

I always skip the downloader as well, Safari snagged it in about 20-30 mins (I'm behind 100mb Inet fiber at work, heehee).

Ready for my upgrade license key so I can download 11. C'mon Sweetwater & Avid...

Pro Tools 11 is already out. Check your product downloads in your account if you already paid for 11.

This is great and i've been looking forward to this situation very much but i was hoping we would be able to open both versions of Pro Tools at the same time and switch between them without closing down. That would have made the co-exisiting situation perfect for time saving and workflow.

Dear Avid, i still rely 40 % + on HD to have access to some essential TDM plugins because i have not found replacements for some essential go to TDM's such as eventide, TC Electronic, Aphex and a few others i have in hdx land.

To be able to print stems in HD10 with just a 96 i/o attached to hear the processing or even to run HD11 and digitally connect to HD10 via AES and gain access to TDM plugs really would be a lifesaving and time saving option in my mixing world. Sure i can do this between two machines but it just simplifies the whole process to do it within one computer for samples, sessions and all sorts of practical reasons.

Can you please consider facilitating this at least for the coming 12 or so months while 64 Bit AAX Gets running and some more companies get their AAX Plugs available?

Been bouncing back and forth between the two all day now without issue.
Working in 10.3.6 and working on the details (Installs, compatibility, learning, writing) in HD11
Both open faster than ever.

Since 10.3.6 runs on TDM will it be possible to sync TDM and HDX.
Or does 10.3.6 not work in TDM.

hi, could one of the mods or avid people chime in to answer the following:

does 10.3.6 require the new ilok driver? does it install it automatically?

hope not, please advise.

i ask because i already have a 10/11 bundled license on one of my iloks, and want to avoid downloading the new ilok client and driver until the problems over there are 100% sorted out. if i can install 10.3.6 and not have to update my ilok, i'll try it sooner than later. (10.3.4 has never been stable for me, i'd like a more robust version in which i can still use my RTAS stuff until they're ported to AAX... which may be awhile!)
