Default Question about Tab to Transient on midi trax

This also includes Instrument tracks....
I thought it was possible to Tab to Transient on the piano roll and it would select the next note? It does move the cursor to the next note, but the note does not get selected (highlighted). Am I dreaming, or is there a setting I need to change?
