Default Can you use HD hardware with pt9

I was skimming through the menus when I noticed under digitest, that no cards are present. I was wondering if pt9 would work with 96i and a core and accel pcie cards? Or do I need pt HD?

Thanks

Since you added your 2 cents, I might as well give you the run down. There's a guy who run a music shop who's willing to sell me a 96i and a midi sync for $350 which means I'll have to get a core & accel card & digi link cable from eBay. Since I can't use the cards on pt9.0.6, i'll have to get HD (somehow). Here's the kicker, I have a 1st gen Mac pro woodcrest 2.66ghz (quad) with 32gb (now) it runs pt9 flawlessly BUT I can only get HD 9 or maybe 10 as 11 is not avid qualified with my current machine. As of tomorrow, my budget will be $750. & there's no way I can get everything with that amount. The hex nut came off my headphone jack on my 002r so I'm not sure if I should just go buy a 003r & call it a day, although I really want to get HD.. What are your thoughts?

Wow for 750 you would be pushing it does the first GEN Mac Pro run PCI X cards were only PCI e-cards

Many people will sell you the HD seven asset, along with the cards HD7/ HD8

It could be done for 750 but only with PCI X cards if you really want to do any work you really need a HD2 HD3 preferable...

Actual my machine is pcie so pcix cards won't work& my god they are so cheap now a days. I retrieved my installer disk to double check it & noticed there is small print that says for all: pt, pt HD & pt HD native. *note, this disk is that special xgrade from le to pt9 for college students. I got it back when I first enrolled for radio & TV broadcast production. Anyhoos, if I can get a solid confirmation on my pt9 installer disk & weather or not if it work work with HD hardware, install HD & accept my current pt license; I may be fine and could pull off the hardware purchase

In ProTools nine they unified the installer disk so the install is for all of the above listed HD HD native and regular PT

what sets the program apart is the actual Ilok

So you would have to have PT nine HD on your I lock

Actually when I registered my software, it was on the standard pro tools 9 with the digi 002r. I'm not sure if my registration would cover it or if I'll need a HD license. Fwiw, pt9 is on my ilok
