Default Ways to control 11r static, pops, clips and similar sounds

Not sure if this can be dealt with both on the Pro Tools 10 level and within the 11Rack, but I'm getting what I would describe as clipping on the lower notes (with no signs of clipping in PT10). I've thoroughly adjusted volume levels throughout the signal path. I've adjusted EQ and Compression as thoroughly and differently as I can imagine. Need your suggestions/guidance.

If it's helpful, I don't want to compromise the sound by changing it, I'm thinking there's a limiter setting that can control bass when its too thick and reverberating.

System:
iMac mid2010 10.7.3
PT10.0.1
11R latest firmware and all updates w/EP

me thinks there is something very amiss.. I personally have never experienced pops.

Check your output meters to see if you are clipping.
Have you been through the cables to see if theres a faulty one?
guitar jacks ok?

is there any other devices that may be causing some kinda of interference?

Imagine a car driving by you with the bass so loud its vibrating the vehicle and their car speakers are clearly paying the price of both the loudness in combination with the deep bass. That's what I'm interested in controlling - the negative part of having loud, thick bass.

Is there anything besides EQ and Compression I can try, if the volume level is where I want it?

Maybe try plugin 'Maxim'. Sounds like you need a limiter.

Two things to possibly control the 'ole bass flub'. 1. Para eq with the 24db high pass at about 60 or so hz... And change the ribbon mic to a 57. At least that's how I took care of it... Static is a whole other issue I came here to address.. The mains are just really noisy (white noise) like an old tape deck without Dolby..
