from WIn. ME ---> XP and back....

I have a dual boot machine and am wondering if anyone has opened a session made in Win ME then opened it in xp (just to see how it performs) and then re-open it in ME (cause all the pluggings are still in ME) Just wondering if this is something i should risk or not!?
