Pro Tools LE 7.0 shutting down after I hit a key on the keyboard

I am having a problem. After I run Pro tools LE and click on any key on the keyboard, Pro Tools disappears. When I click on the Icon once again to restart, it tells me "pro tools was not closed properly, please restart computer". I have already uninstalled Pro tools and installed it again, but the problem still persists. Now I can't get passed the "authorization code" part because of the keyboard problem. I've had the system for about three years and no major problems. Same keyboard, same computer. It was working before this weekend. Please help
