Default Pro Tools and Digi002 Console Crash

Hello,

I am using the Digi002 console through Firewire connected into the back port of the HP XW8600.

I have a basic session of 48,000khz 24bit files and I have a loop play of a few seconds of audio. I go into the mix windows and choose an RTAS insert Waves Q10 EQ for example and as the clip is playing I do a sweep on one of the Q nodes and then Pro Tools crashes I get constant buzzing coming out of the Pro Tools 002 to my sound speakers. Then my screen on the computer goes blank. My mouse and keyboard also stop responding too. The only way to get back into the computer is a hard restart from the power button.

I am on Windows 7 pro 64bit, using the Driver 9.0.2.65 for the 002 console http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/e...02-003-Drivers

I also am using an internal secondary Sata drive with my audio samples on. Is this a firewire issue on the HP or some other problem?

http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/e...oting/en349411 I am reading this guide could it be to do with the Firewire legacy drivers would this be a likely related issue to my freezing I am getting?

Thanks,

Leo

Does the Firewire bus on the HP XW8600 have Texas Instrument chipset? If not then there's a good chance that's where the problem lies.

What drive is your session on? Samples are best on their own(which means 3 drives) drive. If you have only 2 drives, samples should be installed on the system drive(IOW, the recording drive handles nothing but recording and playing the session audio).

What exact version of Pro Tools?

What exact version of Waves?

Yes I checked in Windows device manager and it says Texas Instruments for the 1394 controller.

Yes I have a separate drive for the OS and software only. I have 2 sata drives one for record and playback and the other for audio samples.

I am on Pro Tools 10.3.6, tried 10.3.7 and the same issue. Also I am getting weird lag using the on-screen faders in Pro Tools in the Mix window. I can not be playing back and click and drag the on screen fader fast or slow and it's choppy.
