Default Beware PlugIn Resale Scam

Dear DUC Community. It has come to our attention that a scammer has used stolen credit card numbers to purchase Neyrinck licenses and is reselling them to audio professionals. Please contact us to see if a seller is legitimate before you pay them so that you do not end up losing money.

The scam works like this:
1. The scammer purchases a license with a stolen credit card.
2. The license is deposited to the scammer's iLok account where the iLok account has no actual iLoks registered.
3. The scammer advertises the license to an audio professional.
4. The audio professional pays the scammer and gives the scammer their iLok user ID.
5. The scammer contacts Pace and requests a license transfer.
6. The credit card company realizes it was a fraud purchase and takes the original purchase amount back from us.
7. The license transfer is not approved or delayed, suspecting it is a scam.
8. The audio professional has to try to get their money back from the scammer.

Thank you for your help in keeping the Buy and Sell market legitimate.

Paul

Hopefully most people are suspicious of any ilok transfer from an unknown seller.
