Angry CPU overload

So I recently bought a brand new mac and I've been trying to get my setup running for the past couple of days. I'm a film composer so I use an extensive amount of VI's in the form of Kontakt and Play. I'm close to finishing all my sample library installs and as I've installed them I've checked them in Pro Tools 8.0.3 to make sure they're correctly installed. I've started having problems and receiving a "CPU overload error 6101" message. This is a big problem, because I'm not overloading the processor. I've watched the CPU usage while in protools and it'll crash when there isn't even any sounds playing. the CPU usage never exceeds 45% (it's died on me even at 19%) and that's of dual quad core 2.26 GHz processors. I've been madly searching for the answer to how can I fix this and I just don't know what to do. I've been working on this for several days and it's getting really old.
Please help!
~Andrew

Default Re: CPU overload

You don't specify if you have a dedicated audio drive and you should also have a dedicated sample library drive. Internal 7200 rpm or better SATA drives are the way to go.

Recording to the System Mac HD is going to mess you up.
