Fuse playback and region select latency
When a Fuse captured movie is online in PT 5.0.1, and a region is selected, there is a one second delay before the region is highlighted. When the movie is offline, the selection is instantaneous.
Has anyone experienced this behaviour? The delay is just long enough to be annoying. FYI, the Fuse drivers are version 2.0.2. I apologize in advance if this topic has been covered. |

Re: Fuse playback and region select latency
Not a fuse user, instead a DC30 plus user but. . .
Are you hiding the movie track on the time line? That has been a big performance help for everyone using picture in Protools. Less of an issue on g4 comared to 9600, but still helpful

Re: Fuse playback and region select latency
Thank You BigSound for your suggestion.
We actually had a DC30+ in that system and didn't experience this lag. The movie track is always hidden, and the QuickTime video window is moved to the very bottom of the screen. The problem persists if single or both fields are displayed. I also tried version 2.0.1 of the Fuse drivers and QuickTime versions 4.1.2 and 5.0.2 with the same lag when selecting regions during editing. I hear the video HD being accessed when the selection is being made. The drive is on its own SCSI bus with ATTO EPT set to 40/20 and 512 bytes for that channel only. That doubled the benchmark results from the previous setting, but had no effect on the video performance. Once again, I thank you in advance for your reply. |

Re: Fuse playback and region select latency
I can tell you that I think this is a Fuse problem. I get the same thing on 8 computers, but if I put in a Miro it's fine.

Re: Fuse playback and region select latency
I got a fuse on a G4 and I get the same problem that you're describing...It gives the computer a really laggy feel..It makes long form work a real PITA
If anyone has a fix Id be damned happy to learn it..

Re: Fuse playback and region select latency
Thank you for your replies. I am going to install PT 5.1 and 5.1.1 and see if there is any difference, as it seems to me that the fuse 2.0.2 drivers were written specifically for that version of PT.
Is there anyone who doesn't experience this problem? |
