Default Maixmum simultaneous recording track count pro tools 2018?

Hello!

I came across some info regarding the maximum simultaneous recording track count at once (which I believe is 32 tracks recording at once?) but, wasn’t sure after searching more. Anybody know the scoop for sure? Pretty sure it was 32 for regular pro tools, but just want to make sure I’m not missing something.

Also, is there no more pro tools 2018, but just pro tools (vanilla) and pro tools ultimate (HD)?

Also - also, on a side note, does anybody happen to know the maximum simultaneous recording track counts for Studio One 4 professional and Logic Pro X? (This info seems to be difficult for me to find for some reason.)

I appreciate it!

We now have 3 versions of Pro Tools; FIRST(the free one) Pro Tools and Pro Tools Ultimate. FIRST is quite limited so I won't discuss. As for max number of tracks you can record in a single pass, its going to be 32 for both versions with any/all 3rd party interfaces.

The way to get more requires HD/Native(card or Thunderbolt box) with Digilink hardware connected(for a maximum of 64 record-able tracks).

To go higher than 64, you need multiple HDX cards(with digilink interfaces) and that gives 64 per card(2 cards=128)

Not positive, but I believe Studio One 4 and Logic are only limited by what the computer can handle, so if you are looking for the maximum recording tracks without spending a ton, look at Studio One with the Presonus Quantom boxes.

If you are on the fence about which DAW to use, consider a few things;
#1-Are you sharing work with other musicians? It makes sense to use what they use to make sharing files easy.
#2-Are you sharing work with other studios? Same as above
#3-Are you working alone and making music for yourself(whether it sells or not)? Then use whatever meets your needs.
#4-Are you hoping to work in "pro" studios as a career? Get Pro Tools.

Got ya! Thank you for the info! The details about the 64 is something I overlooked! I just assumed you could use any interface with Ultimate and get considerably more.

Does anyone happen to know those details for Logic Pro X or Studio One 4?
