RayDAT & MADI

Hi guys,

I have a question. Both our playback and recording machine are using RayDAT and soon I have to bring my playback machine into another room and use their recording machine (MADI) and I just want to know if there is a cable or a adapter or any equipment to switch between optical cable (RayDAT) and BNC cable (MADI). Can it work? Or are there other ways to make it works together except using their machine. Thanks so much.

If you sort out yourself what exactly you are asking you'll answer most of your own question. So lets do that...

Raydat is an interface card not a type of connection.

A Raydat has ADAT and maybe S/PDIF inputs on TOSLINK optical connectors.

So presumably you want to convert coaxial MADI to ADAT? ...

Why not just buy a RME MADI card? RME and other companies also make suitable converters but they'll all be more expensive and complex than just using an RME MADI... and if you are familiar with RME cards...
