GUI background freezing meters while dragging around plugins/windows
So ive verified this issue across 3 different windows builds with nvidia and intel gpus on 3 different PT versions from 2020.9, 2020.11, and 2020.12. When you hit play and have meters moving, grab a plugin window/send bus etc and move it slowly around the screen and watch all your meters/gui completely freeze until you let go. This DOES NOT happen in pt 12.8 on the SAME system using OSX, totally smooth. I've tried every setting possible, nothing fixes it. Furthermore, the Enable GPU option in prefs literally does nothing on windows.
Please comment below if this is the same for your rig and if by some chance it ISNT happening, list your windows OS, gpu and PT version. I have a ticket with AVID open at the moment, trying to solve. |

GUI background freezing meters while dragging around plugins/windows
Ive seen this on three different windows builds all with different versions of PT. Hit play, watch meters move and slowly drag around a plugin window and watch all of your meters freeze until you stop moving it or let go of the click. Please comment below if you also have this issue, and if you DONT let me know your machine specs.

Does the same thing here with the latest version of PT on Windows.

Re: GUI background freezing meters while dragging around plugins/windows
Hmmm, on my Windows rig, a few plugins will give a very short pause, but its only for a half second at most(and I can drag plugins all over until my arm gets tired). Other plugins don't affect the graphics at all. What could it be? Graphics driver would be tops on my list of suspects. Then I'd probably review system tweaks and maybe post system specs. My specs are a bit dated:
Asus Sabertooth X79 intel i7 3930K(6 core, stock speed) 32GB quad-channel RAM nVidia K2000 graphics Samsung SSD system drive(sessions on 7200RPM spinners) 750 watt PSU(which might also be worth a look if you are running a less-beefy PSU as computer stuff doesn't like being under-powered). BTW, in testing, I was running a fairly big mix session at a 64 buffer setting and I have no DSP(Presonus Studio 1810c interface) Latest PT Ultimate on Windows 10 Pro 20H2
