I just saw this post again today...utterly meaningless! I'd definitely had a couple too many , so I edited it to make sense.

What I meant was PT stalling/misbehaving while Fab Dupont was streaming on Youtube with Vance Powell. I've added Fab's comments while he dealt with his stubborn PT when calling up plugins and presets.

10:00 "Pro Tools is being Pro Tools." That definitely means what it means. PT is difficult!
15:05 "Dealing with unhappy computers"
15:21 "As soon as Pro Tools works again."
15:25 Talking to PT "Come on dude!" Talking to Vance "Let me see what his problem is." Checks Playback Engine "Aw Come on!" then "It's really finicky today."

There you have it dudes...The industry standard DAW that we absolutely love to hate

Im defending Avid here, and Ive said MANY times. If you cant lock down a computer OS/PT version , then you deserve everything you get. Ive had 1 crash in 9 years, and its because ive done the exact opposite of what ya'll are doing, and that is every 6 months pulling the bottom janga block out. Thats effectively what you're doing, and how you're clients put up with it is beyond me.....Blaming your tools.....pathetic.....its EXACTLY like using the same hammer where the head falls off and smashes your toe. After the 4th time its YOUR FAULT.

Nobody documents the 24 hours recording sessions where it works flawlessly. I just came off a two day session building a multi part quartet piece to a track. I've tracked this project over two months of daily use. Not one stall, glitch or crash. Multiple VSTs in the project including Omnisphere, Kontakt, Trillion, Keyscape.

Now tomorrow I may locked all day in a technical struggle (which usually happens when I'm tired) but today is good.

Or, if you are going to "mess with it", have a backup plan to get back to where you were when it did work. Imaging or cloning, your choice.

capt kirk bro, are you saying you've been using the same version of PT for nine years, or did I misunderstand? Maybe you don't use tons of VI's and third party plugins? Folks who don't do that will definitely have very few problems with PT, if any. It works very well if it's only audio. I love PT, but it's common knowledge that it doesn't always play nice with third party VI's and plugins.
