Default Display Monitor info

Hey,

Does anyone know who makes the monitor(display) shown in all the Icon ads? It looks pretty sizable. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It looks to me like a Samsung 191T- (I have an 18T myself) They are terrific monitors, but I do not think that exact monitor is still current in their product line. You can find them on the web for around $700 USD.

I think it's a Samsung 213T. 21", 1600x1200, DVI input. I own 2 Samsung 191T's and 2 172X's. I love 'em. Super narrow bezels and real thin. Great colors and I've never had a dead pixel. I only buy monitors with DVI inputs. They're easer to extend (via optical) and are razor sharp. Don't waste your money on VGA only monitors.

Downunder we're running Samsung 193s, we tried the 21" versions and it as lovely as it was, it destroyed the soundfield. Just tooo big. A lot of people have been asking for two monitors on the Spacedeck Arm, which is possible, although it would further bugger up the monitoring. A happy medium is the 19 incher, silver of course.

If they are the 193 "P" models I think you are refering to, those are great looking and have both DVI and VGA inputs. A really nice thing about these monitors is that the stand that they ship with is hinged in such a way that they can be lowered down so that the base of the monitor is right at console level, with almost no space between it and what it is sitting on. This keeps it as low and out of the sound field as possible. The Samsung 172X's are hinged this way as well.

Had a quick look and it's the 193T model. Clears the "infinitely variable touch sensitive rotary encoders" with a little room to spare when mounted on the Space Deck arm. Tossed out the stand. Watch out for the cables though, it can take out unsuspecting "knobs" Both VGA and DVI inputs.

Mine was the studio on the Mix cover in April. They ICON we had on the stage was the same one in the adds, and we used Samsung 213Ts. They are about the biggest thing you can use on those arms, though I haven't tried the Apple 23" displays.

We also use the Samsung 21 inch ... very nice looking and nice quality screen. I think (pretty sure actually) that the biggest apple screen you could use is the 20 inch. The 23 would definately start obstructing your meters view.

Not only obstructing the view, The Spacedec arm will not support the weight of the 23 inch display.

Like the 21" on the Icon at Supersonic in miami .... does not look like it is obstructing ... do not know why so many run a 19' on this console .
