Default Re: external hard drive for storage?

May not be an issue, but just to be on the safe side since "storage" is a somewhat ambiguous term...

When recording, the audio files should be "recorded" to a drive other than the "system" drive.

As far as Pro Tools is concerned, there is no benefit to "recording" to the "system" drive then moving the audio files to a separate drive...

I do not work for Avid (their loss)...my only relationship with Avid is that of a customer (when I'm not too poor to buy stuff, like now)...and that hot administrative assistant...that's more of a "thing" than a "relationship" (that should keep them guessing for a while...)

Just rockin'...what more is there?

Interesting. Since I usually work in the studio at approx 2 hour intervals, my xHDs are always sleeping when I return. I'm not in the studio right now so I can't get my hands on my xHDs, but is there a standard way to control the HD sleep? Also in what way is the sleeping xHD "not good" for PT? I'm not disputing it, just curious.
