Default Pro Tools 8 HD

I bought a HD PCI-X Core Card the other day and I was looking at buying a Intel based Mac to go along with it, but when I was looking at the compatibility list and with Pro Tools 7 and 8 HD its saying that I need an expansion chassis to run my PCI-X card, is this true? is there anyone out there running it without the expansion chassis?

The PCI-x cards will not fit physically in intel Macs.
Dont go the chassi way . Sell the PCIx card and buy the PCIe version instead.
