Default How to optimize Mac Pro when running only TDM plug-ins.

How would you set CPU usage limit and host processors when your never use any native plug-ins or VI´s, only TDM plug-ins?

I want to optmize my Mac Pro Quad intel for maximum stability and "snappiness".

I am not running any other programs, just PT 10.3.6. with HUI / EUcontrol.

Thanks!

If you're using TDM-only sessions, you don't need to care about any host settings. All processing is taken care of the TDM cards.

Yes, I know but how low can I set CPU limit and amount of processors, I don't want to reserve any power for RTAS since I don't use it.

Hi,

Sounds like you're not going to be needing much CPU for PT so set the limit quite low! Guess theoretically 1 processor at 50% would work, although I would feel safer having 3 processors at around 80%

Been running 7 at 90% and never had any problems!
