no sound when using inputs on digi 003

i a newbie and am having diffuculty getting sound output out of pro tools with a digi 003 factory. i can open a browser and listen to internet radio so i feel the digi 003 factory is working. but for some strange reason i don't hear any output even though i see that pro tools is getting the audio from my keyboard.. any assistance would be great. i am using pro tools 11 on a mac with 10.8.4. i have my headphones plugged into the digi 003 and i am using the main outs....??? i can hear sounds with garageband, itunes etc.......please assist...scratching my head...idk

now this is weird, i inserted a virtual instrument on a track and i can hear that fine. i plugged my turntable into the aux and tested that and i can hear that fine..

When you say you can't hear your keyboard, do you see the meters on the Pro Tools track moving? Have you selected the 003 as the audio engine(in Pro Tools>Setup>Hardware>Audio Engine)? Which inputs of the 003? This may be redundant, but since I have no idea of your skill or knowledge, there may be some details you have missed such as:
003 has a button that routes the AUX inputs directly to the outputs. With this selected, no other audio can pass thru the 003.

The 003 powers up muted(so you must unmute it every time you power it on)

There are mic/DI buttons for the first 4 inputs which must be in the proper position to choose between the XLR inputs and the quarter inch inputs.

Inputs 5 thru 8 have only a choice of -10 and +4(-10 MIGHT work for the average synth/keyboard)

for some reason when i hit the stop button on my digi 003 i get sound. doesn't make sense, but has anyone else experienced this issue...??

i have never had an issue with pro tools, i started with a digi 001 12 years ago and it always seemed easy setting it up. this is my first set up with a controller like the 003 factory and i admit i am not familiar with all the options it offers. but just getting sound out of it shouldn't be that diffucult..

everything is working now. i don't know what the issue was or is, maybe something is loose inside the unit. thanks for the reply
