Default Control|24 as live mixer?

I plan to consolidate my analog 24 channel mackie mixer and my Baby HUI into one mixer / control surface. It is quite clear that the C24 is a great control surface. Can I also use it as a basic live sound mixer for a band practise? Does it have a good amount of analog outs for monitoring and Aux send/return?
Otherwise, I'm contemplating the new Tascam DM-4800 which is a genuine digital mixer with HUI built-in. I don't need super advanced control surface for PTLE, the baby HUI was sufficient actually.
Curious to hear from owners...

The only traditional mixer features on the CTL|24 are the 16 mic/line inputs(pre's) which are available on 2 8ch d25s, and the submixer which is an 8 stereo input x stereo out configuration. What you need to know is that the analog features on the CTL|24 are completely seperate from the controller features. The two devices are just packaged in the same box. If these meager analog features will suffice for you then you will need to do some custom interfacing to make it work. Honestly, there are so many cheap options for full featured - compact mixers that would be great for rehearsal and small gigs that I can't see anyone bothering to use the CTL|24 this way. If you want something that can help you hone your sound in rehearsal and take it on the road then I would recommend the Mackie TT24. I have both the CTL|24 and the TT24. Different beasts for different purposes.

Good luck!

I would love to hear how the DM-4800 works for you as Im considering it due to its dual purpose nature. I have used the TT24 and love it as a live console but its not in my budget to buy one console for live and another for studio right now otherwise I would go C24 and TT24

Thanks,
- Mike
