I'm guessing they weren't I performed all the logical steps but the files would not import. I've read the windows will discard some of the info damaging the file if it was created in a ver. prior to 5.3 Is there anyway to resolve this is if is the case?

Currently no.. you have to go back to a Mac and resave the session as Mac/PC compatible.

Rail,

That " Mac/PC compatible " issue comes up a lot here. Would it be possible to just automatically default to being always compatible ? What could be the disadvantage for doing so ?
I always check it, regardless where the session might end up.

thanx,

Some Mac users prefer to be able to use special characters while working on sessions.. I know I do. There's also Unicode concerns I think.. so it's not the default option.

We had an engineer in a morning session turn the mac/pc compatiblity off....didn't check. Had two sessions open from the prior days mixing...but not the last day. Guess i'll know to check from now on.

on mac do save session copy as, then enforce mac/pc compatiblity and make the audio files AIFF as i had problems gettng my pc to work with sd2, check copy all audio, you dont need to check copy all fade as pt will recreate fades

hope this helps

It's impossible to save as MAC/PC compatible and also have sd2 as the file type (the option is grayed out in Pro Tools since sd2 isn't a Windows compatible file type). I'd recommend using WAV/BWF as the file type.
