Default 9020 with 002 (on 64 and 128 Latency)

I know you are probably all sick of 9020/9029's ect... but I have done a exhaustive search and I need some help with a specific problem.

First the specs:
P4 2.4 Northwood, MSI 845PE Max MB
512MB 2700, 40GB system, 80GB Audiodata ,
Sony CD-RW 32X8X4
all running off onboard IDE
ASUS MX440 64MB AGP
Swannsmart Firewire
XP Home, (massively tweaked to barebones)

The Problem:
Whenever I play a track at lower latencies... (64,128,256) About 1 bar before the audio actually starts it gives me a 9020/90xx. If I press OK and play again, it continues and the rest of the track plays just fine / no errors. It seems to be some kind of HDD thing but I'm not sure... I can almost garrantee it, on different sessions too. These sessions arent particularly intensive either, maybe 2 midi tracks and 3 audio tracks.

What I have tried:
Disconnecting the CD-ROM
Checking DMA is enabled.
Disabling all startup progs and unnessesary services
Installing Intel Applications Accelerator
Using the Seagate HDD Utility to slow down Audio drive to UDMA 66 / 33
The only thing installed is ProTools / bundled plugs.

APIC is anabled and my Firewire card is on IRQ 18, does this sound sus to anyone, should I do a fresh install with "Standard PC" enabled?

Anywho, any comments / suggestions are welcome

Thnx!
