Tell us about the VST transition. I know nothing about it. Were 32 and 64 bit version compatible?

I do know that all my clients that used Logic had nothing but nightmares with the way Apple did it with their bridges.

I think I prefer Avid's approach where they treated like ripping off a band aid. All at once.

My POINT is they have NOT RETIRED their older TDM systems...

I understood your point, Ray. I was clarifying with additional information, because your statement implied that WB post as a whole was still using TDM systems.

Same here, I don't know a single Pro Tools user with Soundgrid.

I thought this thread was about "Waves Mercury Retrograde" not soundgrid.

Maybe the real question is why users who think Waves is semi-pro and have found "much better alternatives" post on EVERY thread with Waves in the title about how bitter they are and how Waves sucks.

I would probably be pissed if I bought some of the more expensive packages expecting waves to be a player for life... Only to find out it's AAX native from here on out -------

Point taken...

I am deleting all my Soundgrid rant

Truly I am not a Waves hater! I have used and still use a fairly large amount of Waves stuff (since 1998). I spent way too much on TDM and WUP of the past but the current Waves/WUP pricing does not bother me. The fact that they dropped AAXdsp in favor of their own SG platform is an interesting business choice and it will be a while before any one knows how good it is for them. The product is not even available yet. Wholesale adoption of SG by the PT crowd seems unlikely to me but if the price/performance is right there are plenty of really good ideas there that could land them some sort of home in studios.

I doubt it will be.

I truly wish they would use their resources on cleaning up the "multiple video card" bugs, but perhaps that's just me.
