Mbox DI for reamping
Hey guys,
Simple question: On my Mbox Pro, should I apply any gain at all on guitars destined to be reamped? If yes, how much?? Also does the DI on the Mbox act like a real DI box? And do I need a reamp box for later amping??? Thanks in advance for your answers. Last edited by pzykt; 07-03-2013 at 05:26 AM. |

Re: Mbox DI for reamping
You should set the gain as you would for ANY audio recording. Get the level just into the yellow, and don't hit red. As for re-amping, without a re-amp box, your level and impedance will not be correct. You may be okay if you fuss with the level that you send out of the Mbox(going to your amp). Record the dry guitar, then feed the signal back out to the amp, and go back and forth between the re-amp send and your guitar plugged right into the amp, and adjust the re-amp level to match the real guitar.
Opinion time; with the quality of current amp sim plugins, you COULD just stay in the box
