Pro Tools sees my Windows 7 as Vista (can't install)
Hello
Yesterday I tried to install ProTools 9.0 for the first time on my Windows 7 Professional 64bit system, it didn't work properly (installed it on the wrong drive I think..). After I did a clean uninstall and made a new User Account to start over and install ProTools right this time, it gives this error message after I start the installation "Pro Tools 9.0 is not compatible with the Vista operating system and cannot be installed. Press OK to exit." How can this be? There's only this boot of Windows 7 on my computer.. Can anyone help me out here please? Thanks in advance! |

Re: Pro Tools sees my Windows 7 as Vista (can't install)
I work in IT and deal with user's home pc issues daily. Often they present me with a puzzle to figure out before I can even start troubleshooting. Like here. I'm thinking that you're aware of something major that went wrong but are only presenting the symptoms of that result.
If you can spell out exactly what you did, and steps you tried to fix it, it will make this less of a puzzle for all of us and allow us to help you resolve this quickly. Did you make an image backup of your system before you started? |
