Unable to record since PT M-Powered 8.0.1 installed

Hello, as it is written in my title, I'm unable to record since PT M-Powered 8.0.1 is installed.

Don't know if this is related or if I made a mistake in the meanwhile (was a long time I hadn't used PT).

When I set one track (it started with MIDI+Instr. tracks but same now with audio track) to be recorded ; the record button in the transport window stops and the stop+play buttons quickly flashes.

Can you help me please ? Thanks in advance.

What cs update was installed prior to the move to 8.0.1?

Hello Tom, it was the 8.0 update from 7.4 version.

I tried again last night and I managed to make it work. Before, I was trying to use Kore Player to record a midi track. Maybe it was linked.
Beside, I am no specialist about midi recording (record guitars mostly) and I created both a instrument + a midi track. Maybe I was wrong (I had in mind the 'drag and drop' creation of drum track with EZ Drummer).

I've had once the exact same issue and really couldn't figure out what
caused this. I'm using the ProjectMix IO and when power cycled it it was solved. Of course needed to restart PT as well as it has lost its connection via HUI. I didn't pay much attention to it because at this time I'm also using a FireWire controller that is having a wrong chipset and I need to powercycle more then once a day because of connection loss.

Are you using the PJM IO and a FireWire controller having the TI chipset ?

I'm using M-Audio Ozonic (midi keyboard plugged in firewire).

My problem is solved, it was because of a period of time without recording any midi tracks, maybe... !
Weird, when I was recording drum tracks with EZ drummer, I had to create both an instrument track and a midi track. The 1st was to open the EZ drummer plug-in and the 2nd to drag and drop drums samples.
This time, it was to record keyboard (with kore player as a plug-in) and the mere instrument track was enough. I wrote 'weird' because I opened a different and older session to see if I was unable to remember the "how to bo it" correctly and I could not make the session play !
I erased the digidesign databases and my 2 hard drives and restarted my record in 24 bits (as it is set in my preferences) and it worked, but with no need to create a midi track ! I haven't tried to do it again with kore player and made it with Xpand (which couldn't work either when I was experiencing those issues). I wonder if it was not due to Kore player ?
Well, I don't know exactly why it didn't work and why it does now but the point is to make it work, isn't it ?!?

i m currently having the same problem so maybe somene can help me ....

im using m powered 7.3.1 ( cs 7) and i arm the track im on press record on the transport but when i go to press play both stop / play highlight momentarily then start flashing and then stop meaning its not going into record mode

i was using my kore player as a plug in on the track with my maudio oxyegen controller

any ideas whats up ?????? as its pretty useless if i cant record anything

Hello, have you checked if there is any difference between your protools settings, session settings, hardware settings and kore settings with rate and samples ?
I think this was the reason I had problems.

Weird things happen, for example : with Guitar Rig 4 as a standalone, I only have 48000Hz available and when I use it within PT as a plugin, it is 44100Hz as it should be (as my PT & other plugins, including Guitar Rig 3 settings).

As written in my previous post I had the same issue and power cycling solved this. I'm having for a few months now a new rig with a TI chip firewire controler and untill now not once had the issue anymore.

in answer to one reply my settings are the same as in pt and the kore plug in im using....

to the other im not sure what power cycling is ????? pls explain and i ll give it a shot

Hello, same with me, not sure what you mean by power cycling. Just an "amateur".

Ps : I use PT through Firewire Ozonic midi keyboard
