Default M-Audio Fast Track Pro inserts question.

I'm using Live 9.5 on a Win7 machine. I have a TRS cable plugged into Insert 1 on the back, with the Left going into a reverb pedal and the Right coming out. Is it possible to send audio from my DAW to the insert, and record to a new track? I've been trying for days, after giving up some time ago, and just can't seem to get it to work.

Thanks for your time.
