Default elastic audio

If you are using elastic audio in rendered mode are you still beating up on your processor a lot more that if you are not?

I thought it would be nice to have all tracks in that mode in case of a need for multi track audio editing.

If it is not an option because of processor limitations is there a second option to always be ready for audio processing like this on multi tracks?

Yeah, it takes up processing by being on. It's kinda senseless to just leave it on though. It only takes a second to activate it when you need it on a track! You're not really saving much time at all by leaving it on!

But what if I have a tune with a full rhythm section and I want to change the tempo of the song. Wouldn't I need to go to every track, one be one, and enable elastic audio on each track in order to accomplish a tempo change for the song?

No! Learn key commands. Holding Alt (CMD on Mac I believe)+Shift and turning on EA for one track will turn it on for all!
