Default The application Pro Tools has encountered an error

New Windows 10 update (to latest) and the very latest of Pro Tools don't seem to like each other. Does anyone TEST this stuff? I can no longer run Pro Tools at all - I just keep getting crash reports. I guess, "There goes my weekend" again. WOW. Anyone else getting this stupid, non-verbose, no detail "catch all" error bucket that lost you another week as well?

There is a *pile* of stuff to complain about with Pro Tools but it's not clear you are even doing the basic troubleshooting to be able to complain with credibility.

Pro Tools is likely running on many thousands of systems running the latest Windows 10 release. So you should be approaching this as if it is something specific to you system, especially when you have such full on application crashes. If that was being seen by others you would have lots of folks screaming on DUC. And so far... crickets. If you can show this is a problem in a clean install of Windows then you really have something to complain about.

There are a set of standard troubleshooting you should be doing before posting here, start at "Help us help you" up the top of every DUC web page. Is your system fully optimized? Antivirus software disabled or uninstalled? Have you trashed prefs and tried removing all .aaxplugin files from the plugin folder? If standard troubleshooting steps don't seem to be getting you anywhere then spin up a new Windows 10 install onto a spare drive or partition and install Pro Tools and ILM and your interface driver and test if that works on a clean install. If that fails like this then you have something to complain about... Still stuck post a Sandra report and other basic expected info like audio interface and driver version.

Just roll back to image you made before updating Windows.

Didn't do that, roll back using System Restore.

Didn't do that, roll back the actual Windows update.
