Round wounds on a Fender Jazz bass for my current rig. Never liked the feel of flat wound strings. One I miss is an Alembic custom job with 8 strings doubled like a 12 string guitar.

I have an Eleven rack (the orange box) that I use AES with HD. I have a few presets I have made. IIRC one is made from their SVT (Big Blue) and I made one with a Twin and one with a Plexi.
I have used the Ampeg plugin mentioned above and it's pretty good. The Sansamp plug in PT is pretty cool as well. Another good one is Guitar Rig's bass sim.

Love the Ampeg set up with amplitude!!!
I have Apollo and it comes with a free softtube amp/cab 8x10 room plug... Meh it's alright.
