Default submixes

I'm trying to figure out how to submix a part of a session (bouncing to disk) without having all the session going on the disk. This is to be able to free up some audio tracks .

Thanks !!

Just mute all the tracks that you don't want in the submix, maximise your levels so you use as much dynamic range as is available, and then bounce to disk. Then 'make track inactive' on the tracks you just bounced and deselect them from the track view, un mute the tracks you weren't bouncing, and then 'import audio to track(s)' the bounced wav file into a fresh stereo track. Done.

the easiest way is to solo the tracks you need to submix. this will isolate them from the rest of the mix.

When you say part of the session, are you reffering to only wanting some of the tracks or only wanting a certain part of the song (like from 1:50 min to 2:30 min or something)? If you want to do away with some of the tracks the suggestions above will work fine. If you want a certain time span of the song I would just highlight the section you want (like you would do if you were going to loop playback or something) and copy and paste it into a new session. Or similarly, delete what you don't want and save the session as a different name.

Highlight the selection you want to bounce and that is all that will be bounced. Then reimport your bounce into the Current Session

Yep, that's all there is to it. Mute the tracks you DON"T want to bounce, or sole the tracks you DO want to bounce.
