A 1622 has an internal PSU, so you would need to open up the unit and replace the PSU board, or find the failed component on that board and replace it. However, a 1622 is old enough that the easiest way to fix it, IMHO, is going to be to simply buy another unit. I would recommend putting a "Wanted" ad on the buy and sell section of this forum, and also looking on ebay. 1622 units sell very cheap, because they used a special DB60-DB60 cable that is not the same as other interfaces from that era, and this cable usually gets lost, making the unit unusable. Since you already have this cable, you are the perfect buyer.

One more thing, if you are unable to find a 1622, the PSU in the 1622 may be the same as another digidesign unit from the same era. iirc, the PSU in a VSD was the same as the USD.
