Latch Solo Playlist in Soloed Track Any Ideas?
Hi,
how can I put this? I´m used to use Shift+S to solo tracks very quickly (with Solo Mode X-OR) However, when using PLAYLISTS this workflow doesn't work out so great anymore. Because when the main track is soloed and I want to toggle i.e. its PLAYLIST 12 to 13 to 14 etc (with Shift+S) the MAIN track loses its solo and the whole other session stuff is playing again. Switching the solo mode to "Latch" of course is solution for this specific problem at this time being, however, back in the main session I really don't want my solos to latch on real tracks at all. So I have to switch the mode back to X.OR again. This is a bit frustrating since there is no toggle functionality between x-or and latch mode and even shortcuts with keyboard maestro would be a bit cumbersome. Is there a way to achieve an environment with some sort of "playlist only latch mode"? any ideas would be highly appreciated. Re: Latch Solo Playlist in Soloed Track Any Ideas?
Hi .. I believe the problem you are having is because you are holding Shift WHILE you are clicking the different play list tracks.. therefore the SHIFT is causing the Playlist and the main track to both highlight at the same time. So when you press Shift S to solo the different play lists, its simultaneously affect both the Playlist and the main track (because you shift-clicked the playlist) ... So I think the solution you are looking for is.. Don't hold shift while clicking on the playlist.. Click the playlist first, THEN press Shift S .. and I think you will get the results you are looking for.

Quote:
oddly enough when solo mode is set to "Latch" it behaves like X-OR in the playlist view ..(with holding its main track in Solo) Unlogical as hell but this is how I want it to be here.. However "latch" drives me crazy in normal track mode. Nevertheless Solution for me now is two keyboard shortcuts I set up to switch at least more comfy: alt+cmd+s =X-OR alt+cmd+l = Latch |

Two years later and this still hasn't been addressed by all the PT updates. Sad
