Why Pan Layered Sounds In XPAND2 If..

I was wondering why anyone would pan sounds for a single midi track or layered sounds in XPAND2 if you are recording MIDI and will bounce the track to audio for a mix which is the panning event?

Stereo or mono? Can someone guide me on this one?
