Fader Flip (Sends to Fader) Mode

Hey Everyone,

I was hoping someone could help me out. I have got some mixed signals whether fader flip, or sending aux sends to the faders of a control surface is indeed possible using the HUI protocol? I see that the V-Control, which is connected to PT via HUI, does have this option. I just can't seem to find anywhere what midi message is being sent to/from PT and the controller to make this happen.

I was hoping someone out there might have a control surface of sorts, with the option of fader flipping available, connected via HUI to sniff the transmitting code for me!! Here's to hoping! Thanks all!

*Update* - I have successfully programmed user buttons on my control surface to enable the faders to flip to A, B, C, D or E aux sends in Pro Tools. Message me for the midi messages PT wants to see via HUI for this option.

Same midi message for all Sends A-D, just change the 6th byte:

Send A =47
Send B =46
Send C =45
Send D =44

Thank you very much! This is great. I have just been trying to put MIDI Monitor in between V-Console and Pro Tools to intercept the data, not much success. I'm going to try and make these work with the CODE-61.

Are you still using this in your work? How do you use it?

I'm actually planning to use this for a specific setup. Controlling a send in Pro Tools with a fader on my controller, then manipulating the speed and feedback knobs on a Space Echo. Two hands!

I don't know what to do with these numbers, though. The first batch is HUI? Needs to be used by Bome's or another translator?

I do use Bome, it's pretty much the only way to work in PT, here's a link for just my control surface... However there is much, much more going on under the hood from a midi standpoint :

Since my controllers have moving faders, this midi message literally flips my channel faders to the aux faders. It may be slight overkill for what you're trying to do but it might still need to have the full message.

Hey all! Sorry for digging up a dead thread like this. however i'm attempting to do the exact same thing here! The only thing I cant seem to figure out is that my scribble strips dont change back after flipping out of sends on faders. they still say "verb" or whatever the send was. The fader flips fine and controls the volume but just the LCD display doesnt update. any thoughts or workarounds?

In my third post I give the fader flip message:

B0 0F 0B B0 2F 47 B0 0F 0C B0 2F 43

HUI sees this as the "on" message but is smart enough to toggle back and forth, the faders, each time the message is sent. Typically there will be an "off" message also and that should look like;

B0 0F 0B B0 2F 07 B0 0F 0C B0 2F 03

So, I've never tried this because my mixers didn't have scribble strips, but assign this "off" message on every other fader flip, or when you want them to return to normal. Hopefully this will tell HUI to reset your text as well. Let me know.
