Default ProTools Without Mbox

Here's my idea:

Digidesign produce a USB dongle (similar to the iLok) that allows users to use PT without the Mbox.

It seems a little redundant to carry the Mbox around on days where I'm just editing or doing MIDI stuff.

Plausible idea?

This recent thread should give you plenty to read on the subject. I'm all for it, but I just got Logic Pro and lovin' life.

problem is,
most computer sound cards are 16 bit.
so unless you plan to just mix in 16 bit 44.1 then that idea is a total waste.

I am just curious... what is it about Logic Pro that everyone is raving about? I know very little about Logic and am interested to know the differences between PT and Logic...

as for the USB dongle...I would support it... I do alot of work between PT and Max Msp... much of it does not require an interface... so it would be nice to be able to work anywhere...
