Default Is this true? Yes or No....

"If your main system is the PC then you should have just formatted the FireWire drive as FAT32 on XP... the Mac has no problem reading PC formatted drives as FAT32.. it's built into the 9.2.2 OS."

True or False???

True if you have the PC Exchange extensions (normal in the base set) enabled.

You're the person I was quoting. So you're SURE you're sure??

What about Mac 9.2.1? (Or do you absolutely need 9.2.2?)

Thanx!

One other question Rail: Do long file names work cross platform as well? (Or is that only an issue to worry about with transfers on CDs?)

I recognized my quote.. yes, I'm sure.

Long file names are fine.. you only need to worry about them when you use Joliet CD's.. you need to install the Joliet extension on the mac to read the extended file names supported by the Joliet standard.

9.2.1 will be fine as well.. but the PC Exchange extension may not be standard in the base set.. just make sure it's enabled.

So in other words....

Recording to my Western Digital FW drive (formatted to FAT32), and transfering to Mac (w/ 0S 9.2.2), using the PC Exchange extensions should work just fine.

Thank you, Sir. I'll name my first child Rail if it works. (Or at least post some tunage here for ya.)
