Is it safe to upgrade to 12.7.1?
Ok, I have been using 12.7, with few issues.....so what is the verdict on 12.7.1, is it safe to upgrade to it or is it a step backwards? Sad I have to ask, but Avid has been pretty unpredictable lately. Thanks.

Re: 12.7.1
Idk I'm still running 12.5.1
You might have to weigh your problems and then look at the bug fixes that came out with 12.7.1. I looked at it and it appears that they did fix quite a few..... I downloaded it but that's all......

Re: 12.7.1
If you're "on plan", download* it and try it out. If it's not better then simply reinstall your previous version.
* all PT users should be downloading all versions and archiving them for themselves long term. |

Re: 12.7.1
I agree with you Drew but that's crazy... We are in 2017! And avid don't keep all versions on line...Why?!?!? I had to reinstall 12.4 and it took AVID 3 days to add it back to my account... Doesn't make sense at all...

Re: 12.7.1
Because they are a public company and apparently each product they make available to users has to be accounted for in the money you pay them for the plan. More products = diluted profits and an ugly balance sheet. Makes perfect sense from a business standpoint. Don't hate Avid for it, hate Wall St and its need for good numbers.

Re: 12.7.1
Purely anectodal, but my rig is 12.7.1, as are the 2 or 3 others I've been on in the last couple weeks - all seems fine.

Re: 12.7.1
Latest OSX and PT seems to be one of the more stable combinations of 64-bit era

Re: 12.7.1
Here is something I noticed just yesterday that seems very odd. I logged into my avid account and suddenly 12.7 is at the very top, and 12.7.1 is second in the download list. They used to always have the latest version first and older versions after that. It's as if Avid knows that 12.7 is more stable than 12.7.1. I find that strange.

Re: 12.7.1
Those damn UI developers have left the building and now Avid is seeking for new UX developers just kidding...
