Re: How do I know 001 is locked to my mini-me\'s clock?
Badperson,
Still haven't resolved the issue. I used to clock with a Rosetta via lightpipe on this same system and always got a message when changing the clock. Don't know why I'm not getting one now. I've emailed digi tech support to see what they say. Espron's idea seems reasonable, but still haven't tried it. I got the mini me basically to have a good clock and a good pair of mic pre's to record my baby grand in my living room via laptop and MBOX. It's worked out great. Haven't a/b'ed the mini me vs 001 pre's but can tell you I've been very happy micing the piano with mini me-mbox-stereo neumann km184's. Mark |

Re: How do I know 001 is locked to my mini-me\'s clock?
You won't get a message if you change the sample rate.. but, as has been mentioned before, if you change the sample rate on the MiniMe... the pitch of the audio in the session should change.
Tell us exactly how you have it wired, and the options in your Session Setup Window. Rail

Re: How do I know 001 is locked to my mini-me\'s clock?
Rail,
Here's how it's set up: Wiring: RCA spdif out on mini me goes to RCA spdif in on 001. In the Hardware setup menu in protools LE I have the following two options selected: Optical format is set to ADAT Clock is set to SPDIF Mark |

And if you play back an existing session and switch the sample rate on the MiniMe.. does the pitch/speed of the session change? Rail

Re: How do I know 001 is locked to my mini-me\'s clock?
Rail,
You hit it on the nose. Doing kind of the reverse of Espron's suggestion: Using my setup where I think I am clocking with the mini me I played back a session recorded at 44.1 and then changed to rate on the front of the mini me to 48. The pitch of the recorded material did indeed change. So I guess the mystery is solved and I am indeed clocking with the mini me. Thanks for the replies. Mark |
