Clicks and Pops on Audio Input
Just recently built a computer and it's working great, minus one small but very key issue... I can play back old projects, I can import audio, and I can play and record virtual instruments all day. The only problem happens when I try to record audio from a mic or synth. Every 8-10 sec I get a few small pops/clicks on the input and it actually records the pops/clicks. I plug the MBox2 into our old computer and it works fine, so I know it has to be an issue with the new stuff. I tried every single optimization for Windows 7 and the only thing I haven't done is go buy a PCI USB card (which I'm doing this week). So I'm at a loss, so any help from you guys would be awesome, and if you could sent me an email, that would be even better. Anybody had this problem before with the setup below?

Re: Clicks and Pops on Audio Input
I only see a single hard drive and you need 2. What version of PT are you running(needs to be 8.0.4 and properly installed). Try trashing prefs and database files as that often solves odd behavior. I see you have a video card, but I also see mATX and that makes me wonder does this mobo have onboard graphics? If it does, it should to be disabled in BIOS.

Re: Clicks and Pops on Audio Input
yeah, I've reinstalled PT several times, 8.0.4, and sorry, yes I have a Mercury Elite Firewire hard drive that I record to, as well as a Seagate USB that we've used with the old computer with no problems too. I'll provide a link to the mobo I have but I don't think it has integrated graphics...
http://www.microcenter.com/single_pr...uct_id=0323773 the mATX is it's just a smaller mobo, I will be installing the PCI USB card this weekend, so any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. This is such a little but huge problem it's extremely frustrating. Thanks ahead of time and again! D |

Motherboard looks fine. I am also a fan of the Mercury Elite drives. Hope you get it sorted out

Re: Clicks and Pops on Audio Input
A SIIG PCI USB card fixed it. Plugged both the Mbox2 and my USB hard drive into the SIIG and it's working great, I'll do a DVerb test someday to post on here. Thanks to all, so effin sweet that it's all good now!
