002R Hardware Exchange in N.Z ???

Hi Folks!

Any Kiwis out there???

Have any of you managed to exchange your 002R to a 003R via an exchange program?

The official New Zealand DIGI supplier Protel, has steadfastly refused to do this, despite 001 owners have the privilege...

Is it possible to organise this offshore?

An 002 to 003 exchange doesn't exist in the US either. It's not considered a traditional hardware upgrade for a couple of reasons, one being that the 002 is still supported hardware whereas the 001 is legacy, and secondly that the 003 was only created/released to comply with some new power requirements in the EU (or somewhere) so it's basically the 002 series with some minor tweaks. When (hopefully well into the) future versions of the software start to eliminate the 002 from compatibility then there will probably be some sort of upgrade path from the 002, but until then it's considered more of a cross-grade than an upgrade, and thus no upgrade trade-in path.

Here's the PTLE hardware exchange list for the US - as you can see, no 002 to 003 exchange exists.
