Can't select just on track, selects all tracks

New to Pro Tools as of today. I'm trying to select on track and can't. I've checked that there are no Groups set up in the Edit or Mix window. I feel like I have taken a bottle of crazy pills!!!

There is always one group set up; the "All" group. If you have "All" selected, you will experience this behavior. Make sure "All" is not selected.

Ummm... if you've checked that there are no groups, you must have been looking at the Groups List. The "All" group is clearly indicated at the top of the Groups List with the text: <All>

Actually you want to left click on the group to disable it.

And to VIEW the groups list, and the track show/hide list go down to the bottom left hand corner of the edit window and click the << button.
